Since I moved to LA, I've always lived near the marina. It's nestled right between Venice Beach and Redondo and surrounded by some of the last natural wildlife the city has to offer. While I was training for the marathon it became a bit of a ritual to run along the bike path, down to the marina and then along the coastline until the pavement ended and I had to turn around. Every morning I got to see a different sunrise, but I always knew that come Sunday I could find that ice cream truck nestled next to the two tall palm trees in the marina - a constant amongst an ever-changing world.
