One of the best pieces of advice I have ever been given is to spend money on experiences rather than material goods. Being a fashion enthusiast it's hard to deny that I don't enjoy my material possessions, but I can guarantee that the opportunity to travel is much more valuable than any outfit that may grace your closet shelf.
This year Marlena and I talked about traveling together so we can incorporate different landscapes and cities into our work. One of the first big trips on our wish list is the Pacific Northwest (my home!). As current Southern California residents, the Pacific Northwest is a dazzling location that is just within our reach. Not too far, not too close, and definitely not too cold (depending on when we venture).
I've done my fair share of road trips through the golden hills of northern California and the beauty is absolutely breathtaking as you drive up into the pine covered mountains of Oregon. You might even feel like Frodo or a Game of Thrones character on a quest because you are literally surrounded by nothing but pristine nature. There is so much life, greenery and untouched land just waiting to be explored and we hope to capture a bit of it on our adventure.
