A crisp white button down, faux leather leggings and a bowler hat to top it off - what could scream more ‘classic with a twist’ than that? I for one, am a huge fan of menswear inspired outfits. I grew up with a sister who challenged gender roles and taught me that a good fashion find may be hiding in the men’s department, you just need to look for it!
On a more serious note, there is so much here that I could say about gender equality and women’s rights. But there are women all over the world right now who are changing the game and adding to the discussion, like Sheryl Sandberg who wrote “Lean In”, a book focused on women and leadership (I highly recommend it!) or Malala Yousafzai who stood up against terrorism so that she can now stand up for education for all. So here’s to all the women out there who embrace wearing the pants, both literally and metaphorically. Whether you’re stepping up to feed a family of five, running a Fortune 500 company or just throwing on a pair of jeans to run down to the supermarket, I salute you.
"I like being a woman, even in a man's world. After all, men can't wear dresses, but we can wear the pants"
