HAYSTACK ROCK

Haystack Rock is perhaps the most beautiful natural formation on the Oregon coast. This tall pillar of rock stands out in the ocean making all the others look like pebbles when compared side by side. This afternoon was particularly rainy and quite cold. We were alone out on the beach without a single person in sight and just miles of sand as far as the eye could see. The ocean raged on and the rain beat down but we were able to enjoy the moment and play in the water until we were soaked to the bone. Next stop: a warm fire and a big plate of fish and chips.

“She loves the serene brutality of the ocean, loves the electric power she felt with each breath of wet, briny air.”
- Holly Black, Tithe
