A little ways down the Columbia River there's a bridge that spans the divide between Oregon and Washington. Its metal frame looks delicate from afar, but up close it's sheer size and power is overwhelming. This is the Bridge of the Gods. After looking at it for some time I could see how the shape of the metal mimicked the mountains behind it almost blending in with its surroundings. Marlena and I stayed until the sun set behind the hills and watched as the light faded off the river. Who knew a bridge could be so beautiful?
